Calvin Kelekolio Long Distance Race

Keōua Hōnaunau Canoe Club invites your participation in the 35th annual Calvin Kelekolio Long Distance Race on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The course will be to the north from Honaunau toward Kealakekua Bay. We will host our traditional post-race Keoua-style pa‘ina and awards ceremony for all race participants.

Race Course

Juniors 18 and under
(Girls, boys, and mixed crews compete together; junior crews start with the women)
2 Miles: Hōnaunau – Moinui Point – Hōnaunau

Women and Mixed
8 Miles: Hōnaunau – Kealakekua Bay – Hōnaunau

Men
10 Miles: Hōnaunau – Kealakekua Bay – Keawekāheka Point – Hōnaunau

  • Registration opens 7:00 AM
  • Coach’s Meeting: 8:00 AM
  • Women & Mixed: 8:30 AM
  • Juniors (18 and under): 8:35 AM
  • Men, following Women/Mixed/Junior Race (~10:30 AM)

Race Fee

Each club please collect from its own members and pay fees with one club check.
$120.00 per crew IF PAID WITH A CLUB CHECK, PayPal, or Venmo
Junior crews are FREE

Attention Coaches and Canoe Trailer Drivers

NATIONAL PARK: Canoes are NOT to be beached on National Park Grounds, and they ask that paddlers do not park in their lot.
