Calvin’s Race

Keoua Canoe Club VP Darralyn Clark says:

What a beautiful day for a race! Honaunau Bay was just shinning, “You are so lucky to paddle out of here”, is what I heard all day from other clubs. And we are!! Everything went great, lots of help from the club made it so nice and it just flowed.

The parking of boats was a challenge without the church lot, but Craig took charge and did a could job in creating spaces. Both Races went good. And our Koa men won first place! Our women Koa won second place! And our mixed sixty’s won second place also. Our other Canoes did really well also, so proud of them all, they’ve been working hard.

The food was incredible, some of the best spreads we’ve ever served. Thanks to Helen and her family and friends, they are amazing!

Special Thanks To everyone who made it such a successful day. We had 78 entries, most we’ve had in a long time. And Jackie Backhaus was so on it, I couldn’t have done it without her, Many Mahalo’s, Darralyn

Mahalo to all of our participants, sponsors, and club members! We’ll have race results posted as soon as we can.
